Working with AI

AI assistants answer better when they read the real documentation instead of guessing. The MyScript developer docs reach them three ways: an MCP server they can query, an llms.txt index, and a Markdown version of every page.

MCP server

The Model Context Protocol lets an assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor search and read these docs on its own, as you chat.

The server is public, needs no authentication, and speaks streamable HTTP at:

https://developer.myscript.com/mcp
ToolWhat it does
search-docsKeyword search across titles, descriptions and content.
list-docsLists the pages of a pillar: sdk, cloud or concepts.
get-docReturns one page as Markdown.
compare-doc-versionsTells whether a page is unchanged in another version, without fetching both.

A few things worth knowing:

  • Without a version, sdk and cloud default to the latest one. Ask for another version by number, for example 4.4.
  • SDK pages hold the content of every platform in one page. Give a language (java, swift, objective-c, csharp or cpp) to get-doc or search-docs and you only get that platform's side.
  • concepts covers what applies whatever the platform: ink processing, recognition features, the glossary.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http myscript-developer https://developer.myscript.com/mcp

Claude

In Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector and enter the URL above.

ChatGPT

Custom connectors are available on ChatGPT Pro and Plus, on the web. Enable Developer mode in Settings → Connectors → Advanced settings, then create a connector named MyScript Developer with the URL above and None as authentication.

Cursor

Install in Cursor opens Cursor with the server ready to add.

Other clients

Any client that supports remote MCP servers can use the URL above. For one that only runs local servers, bridge it with mcp-remote:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "myscript-developer": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["mcp-remote", "https://developer.myscript.com/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

llms.txt

/llms.txt is an index of the documentation for AI tools. It lists the latest version of the SDK and Cloud guides by category, the concepts and the support pages, each linking to the Markdown version of the page, then the GitHub repositories and the iinkTS examples, linking to their source code. Older versions are not listed, but a page of one is served at the same path with its version number. Point an assistant at the file when it can read a URL but not connect to an MCP server, for example: Using the MyScript documentation from https://developer.myscript.com/llms.txt, show me how to ...

Markdown pages

Every documentation page is also served as Markdown, at /raw/ followed by the page path and .md. On any documentation page, the menu under the title gives you:

  • Copy Markdown link and View as Markdown, to paste the page into any assistant.
  • Open in Claude, Open in ChatGPT and Open in Cursor, to start a conversation about the page.

SDK pages in Markdown carry every platform's content. If you work with one platform, say so in your question, or use the MCP server and its language option.
