Introducing the iink SDK 4.️3 native APIs

The C# bindings for Windows are not available for new APIs. If you need them, contact our sales team.

Major enhancement with a new multi latin languages text resource

Until now, the MyScript iink SDK had to be configured according to the language of the text it was recognizing. Mixing languages was not possible, except for using English as a secondary language.

Starting with MyScript iink SDK 4.3, the Raw Content Recognizer, Editor, and OffscreenEditor can recognize multiple Latin languages with a single resource mul_Latn.

  • This new mul_Latn resource supports the equivalent of nine Latin languages resources: de_DE, en_US, en_GB, es_ES, es_MX, fr_FR, it_IT, nl_NL, pt_BR. Therefore, when you write text in a mix of these languages, the recognition engine only needs this new resource to recognize your text.
  • Its use requires the use of our advanced analyzer, bundled as raw-content2.
  • Combined, with the math bundle math2, it enables inlined math recognition within the text.

➤ To learn more refer to the languages list and to the Content Type description guide.

➤ To learn how to use the new resource, see the Engine and Recognizer user guides.

Other changes

Pressure support for the ERASER tool

Now, when digital pens provide pressure levels in the input pointer events for the ERASER tool in the Editor, the Renderer can adjust the eraser radius dynamically.

➤ To support this new feature, you must activate the .eraser.dynamic-radius property corresponding to your Content Part, and adjust the erase tuning with eraser.min-pressure-factor and eraser.max-pressure-factor values.

Easier shape on hold management in Raw Content parts with a new notification

The IGestureHandler interface now includes a method, which is invoked when a shape-on-hold action has been triggered. This notification provides a list of the involved strokes, the type of action, and the JIIX description of the shape.

Deprecation warning for CocoaPods

In preparation for the CocoaPods transition to maintenance mode , iink SDK will move to Swift Packages in a future release.

Update to the latest MyScript technology

MyScript iink SDK 4.3 is based on the latest version of MyScript technology, which improves classification and recognition performance and brings general improvements.

While recognition assets provided with MyScript iink SDK 4.2 will stay compatible, you may want to update your users to the latest assets if you migrate them to 4.3.

If you upgrade from 4.2, please take a look at the migration guide.
