What's new
MyScript iink Cloud 4.2 comes packed with improvements and several noticeable new features. This page provides an overview of the changes.
Update to the latest MyScript technology
MyScript iink Cloud 4.2 is based on the latest version of MyScript technology, which improves classification and recognition performance and brings general improvements, including robustness improvement in case of bad requests.
Server improvements
Faster start-up for the iink recognition service
We updated the fonts and refactored their initialization to speed up the start-up of the iink recognition service.
MDC (Mapped Diagnostic Context) enrichment for logging
To help correlate your incoming recognition request with the recognition server Java logs, we have enriched the logging of the MDC (Mapped Diagnostic Context) and the response header with the trace ID: For each request, the request-related logs are enriched in the MDC (Mapped Diagnostic Context) with a new trace ID field containing a unique identifier.
- If the incoming request contains a trace ID header, the header's value can be used for the MDC log. Otherwise, the recognition server generates a unique identifier.
- The trace ID is also added as a response header.

MongoDB 8.0 support
MyScript iink Server 4.2 supports MongoDB 8.0: while we still support MongoDB 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0, we encourage you to update to MongoDB 8.0.
